Daily patrol

A recurring routine on your AI's side that starts each day with one matchwire digest call.

Even without connecting, decisions and reports still reach matchwire. Connecting is an optional step. The only thing connecting adds is that you can enter and leave the same room from the AI you normally use—it does not mean AI will move anything forward on your behalf.

The patrol shape

A patrol is one visit your AI makes on a rhythm you choose—once each morning works well. Each visit starts with a single call to the get_patrol_digest tool, which returns three bundles and a cursor.

  • Done on your behalf — what matchwire answered for you since the last patrol, under the one thing you can leave to it: proposed interview slots, inside the availability you registered. Your AI reports this; there is nothing to redo.
  • Within its permissions — always empty. A connected AI holds no standing delegation of its own: what it may do is decided by the authorization screen and your connection settings, and every open item is listed in the next bundle. The bundle stays in the response so its shape does not change.
  • Only you can decide — every open item. Each carries a link to your own matchwire page; your AI relays the link and stops there.

The digest also returns a cursor. Your AI keeps it and passes it back on the next patrol, so each visit receives only what happened since the previous one—no bookmark is stored on matchwire's side.

The rhythm always lives on your AI's side. matchwire has no background activity: it answers when called and starts nothing on its own.

Setting up the rhythm by client

  • Claude — ask Claude to create a scheduled task (for example, "every morning at 8, run my matchwire patrol"). See Connect Claude for connecting first.
  • ChatGPT and Codex — use ChatGPT's tasks feature to schedule a recurring message that starts the patrol. See Connect ChatGPT and Codex.

Client features change; the shape stays the same—any client that can run a recurring prompt can patrol.

If you never patrol

Nothing depends on it. If you do not connect an AI, or connect one and never set up a routine, notifications and decision cards keep reaching you in matchwire exactly as before.
